Profhilo Structura is a next-generation bio-injectable solution developed by IBSA, designed not only to improve skin quality but also to regenerate superficial fat to support facial structure. The product utilizes NAHYCO® technology to combine high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid in a thermocooperative Hybrid Complexes without the use of chemical binders. With a high HA content (90 mg in 2 ml), Profhilo Structura provides a gentle lifting effect, improves skin firmness, and naturally restores the cheeks, mid-face, and jawline.
Ingredients & Technology
Profhilo Structura contains two main forms of hyaluronic acid: high-density lipoprotein (H-HA) and low-density lipoprotein (L-HA), each at 45 mg in 2 ml, for a total of 90 mg of HA per 2 ml ampoule.
The product utilizes NAHYCO® (thermal bonding) technology to create highly stable Hybrid Cooperative Complexes (HCCs), eliminating the need for chemical bonding agents to create HA.
The auxiliary components include sodium chloride, sodium phosphate, and an aqueous solution for injection used as a solvent.
Mechanism of action & benefits
Profhilo Structura, thanks to its elastic and well-binding HCC HA structure, is able to spread and integrate into the superficial adipose tissue space, facilitating the restoration of loose or atrophied adipose tissue in the mid-face area.
Low molecular weight HA supports deep hydration, stimulates skin cells to produce more collagen and elastin, and improves the elasticity and firmness of the upper skin layer.
High-density HA creates a lightweight lifting structure that supports soft tissue without altering natural contours.
Lipolifting, a procedure that restores fatty tissue, helps to reshape sunken areas and create more defined facial contours, especially in the cheeks and mid-face.
The product also helps improve skin surface: reducing fine wrinkles, increasing hydration, evening out skin tone, and improving overall skin texture.
Indications & injection sites
Profhilo Structura is indicated for cases of facial fat loss due to aging or weight loss, hollow areas in the cheeks, and superficial fat tissue loss causing loss of facial structure.
The injection sites are typically the midface, cheeks, jawline, or other superficial fatty areas requiring structural restoration.
The injection technique primarily uses a cannula (flexible tube) to reduce the risk of blood vessel damage and help the product spread more evenly. The typical course of treatment consists of two sessions spaced approximately 30 days apart.
Effectiveness & duration of effect
In clinical studies, after injection into the facial adipose tissue in the cheek area, Profhilo Structura showed improvements that could last for at least 4 months and had a noticeable effect on increasing tissue thickness and restoring fat in the cheek area.
HCC blends of HA offer higher durability compared to conventional HA without the need for chemical binders, thus reducing the rate of HA degradation over time.
Safety Notes
The product does not contain cross-linked chemicals, so it has good biocompatibility and fewer side effects.
Mild side effects may include redness, slight swelling, and bruising at the injection site, which usually resolve quickly on their own.
Do not administer the injection to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or if there is dermatitis or infection at the injection site.
